What development platform must I be familiar wtih to get a PeopleSoft job?

PeopleSoft Job

PeopleSoft allows a company to access and run its business functions using only a web browser, with no plug-ins to download to code to run on a user's desktop. PeopleSoft applications are built using PeopleSoft's custom integrated development environment (IDE), called PeopleTools. Data is stored in a SQL-compliant database, such as Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, and DB2. PeopleSoft has its own scripting language called PeopleCode and various design tools and batch programs. PeopleSoft provides solutions in many business areas, including HR, Supply Chain, Financials, CRM, and Learning Management (ELM).

PeopleSoft job seekers generally fall into 2 broad categories: functional and technical. Functional applicants will have detailed knowledge of individual PeopleSoft modules (e.g. Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Project Costing, eRecruitment, Payroll, etc), and the specific business acumen to be able to assist clients in assessing how the product will meet their specific business needs. Technical applicants will have detailed knowledge of how those same application modules are developed and customized in PeopleTools, as well as in-depth skills related to SQL and PeopleSoft's batch technologies: Application Engine, SQR, COBOL (for Financials), nVision, and Crystal Reports. PeopleSoft system components can run on several operating systems and back-end database combinations. Administrators and DBAs will be familiar with the specific server hardware and database platform a client is using. If you have the required skills for a PeopleSoft job, our recruiters will find positions to match your specific qualifications.
