December 11, 2009, Newsletter Issue #13: Oracle Qualification: Skills

Tip of the Week

When applying for an Oracle position, you should have the Oracle skills required for the position. If the position involves working with an accounting module, you should be experienced with accounts payable, accounts receivable and any other accounting skill that may be needed for administration, development or consulting duties.

Understanding the purpose of each module makes development, administration and other work involving each module much easier, especially when connecting many different modules so that information from one module may be used in another module. When you understand the purpose of each module, you will also understand the components and variables that make up the data in the module, making your job of connecting two or more modules much easier. For example, accounts payable and accounts receivable may both use vendor fields. This data can be taken from one indexed database, instead of having two different databases.
